I am delighted to report that Camilla Edwards, from our property management department, who looks after our Newport landlords and tenants has achieved the National Federation of Property Professionals (NFoPP) QCF Level 3 Technical Award in Residential Letting and Property Management.

This award, which is a nationally recognised qualification, meets the Association of Residential Letting Agents (ARLA) membership requirements for those individuals looking to join the Association as a member agent. ARLA is the UK’s foremost professional body for letting agents. It aims to promote better regulation and higher practice standards in the UK private rented sector. Camilla joins the increasing list of lettings staff at Barbers to have become qualified and raise our standards. We currently now have 75% of our staff across all our offices qualified. My goal is to have 100% which I believe gives us so much more credibility in the marketplace as we strive for better regulation of the industry.

It is important for our staff to secure this recognised qualification working in the lettings industry. It is not only a personal achievement for Camilla but also a mark of professionalism and trust; it provides reassurance to tenants dealing with Barbers that we adhere to the highest professional standards. These exams are not easy, so I congratulate Camilla on the achievement of this level 3 qualification.

In recent weeks we have seen plenty of potential tenants through the door looking for property to let in the Newport area. Our recent lets have seen a superb three bedroom semi-detached house on Leigh Road let for £695pcm, we had six viewings and four applications for the house; a two bedroom period cottage on The Spinney in Church Aston let for £625pcm with half a dozen applicants; a three bedroom semi-detached house on Greenvale in Church Aston also created plenty of interest as did a spacious two bedroom apartment in Lilleshall, a modern two bedroom apartment on the High Street and a two bedroom detached house at Woodcote. I know I sound like a broken record saying this, but if you have a property to let we have tenants waiting!
